IDEX brings Nigerian identity checks — National Identification Number, Bank Verification Number and account-to-identity matching — into one dashboard and one REST API. Every service below is a configured record rather than bespoke code, so the fields listed on this page are the exact fields the web form collects, the API validates and your receipt records.

Awaiting provider activation

All 8 services in the catalogue are awaiting provider activation. Nothing here can be run or charged for yet: a service becomes chargeable only once an administrator maps and enables a provider endpoint for it, and until then your wallet cannot be debited for it. You can register and prepare your account in the meantime.

You need a lawful basis before you look anyone up

An identity check is processing of personal data. Before you run one you must have a lawful basis for it under the Nigeria Data Protection Act — and where that basis is consent, the recorded consent of the person whose record you are checking. IDEX asks you to confirm this on every verification form and stores the confirmation against the reference, so you have an audit trail. Results are supplied by third-party data providers and reflect the records those providers hold: a check can legitimately return no match, and no result should be treated on its own as proof of identity.

How a check runs

Every service in the catalogue follows the same four steps.

Fund your wallet

Verifications are paid for from a prepaid naira wallet. You top it up once and each check draws from the balance, so there is no card authorisation in the middle of a lookup.

Submit the fields the service requires

The catalogue entry defines them. Anything that fails validation is rejected before it reaches a provider and before your wallet is touched.

IDEX prices, debits and calls the provider

One engine handles pricing, the debit, the provider call and settlement, so the amount you were quoted is the amount you are charged.

You get a result and a reference

Every outcome — completed, no match found, or unable to complete — is recorded against a reference you can quote, with the ledger entry beside it.

Extending the catalogue

New services are configuration, not a release

A service on IDEX is a record: a code, the fields it requires, its price bands and a mapped provider endpoint. That is why a check you do not see here is usually a matter of setting one up rather than building one.

One field contract

The requirements listed against each service drive the dashboard form, the API validator and the admin editor from the same definition. A form can never ask for a field the API would reject, and an added field appears in both places at once.

Nothing is sellable on a flag alone

Marking a service live is not enough to charge for it. IDEX also requires an enabled, mapped provider endpoint before a single naira leaves a wallet, which is why the catalogue reports readiness honestly instead of promising a lookup it cannot perform.
